Launching the Cavally Forest Regeneration Project

We’re thrilled to announce the launch of Phase 2 of the Cavally Forest Regeneration Project, which includes the official signing of a Memorandum of Understanding along with the Ivorian Ministry of Water and Forests, Earthworm Foundation, Nestlé, the Swiss Federal Administration (SECO), the Swiss Platform for Sustainable Cocoa (SWISSCO), and Touton.

Reports from Phase 1 of the project show a very positive impact, with higher economic and social resilience among local communities, reduced deforestation, 1,500 hectares of trees replanted, and more than 7,000 ha of natural regeneration in the forest. Yet, challenges still remain, thus the importance of Phase 2 of this project that goes beyond preserving the classified Cavally Forest. In addition, it will improve the transparency and traceability of the cocoa and rubber supply chains.
